June Card Class

Hi Stampers,

Well I thought I'd better get this updated before the next thing came along, you know how that is, specially this time of year.  I have a few photos here of our June card class, and what a fun, fantastic afternoon we had.  I was so happy that everyone enjoyed themselves, the food was great, the company even better.  I have to say that not only are you all wonderful in helping me stay active as a Stampin' Up ! demonstrator, but we have all become wonderful friends and you have all been awesome ladies to work with.  Everyone is always SO HAPPY even when I mess up and we have to well let's just say, improvise!!

Well with further ado -   here is my first group of ladies!

The ladies all got a lovely vase with two roses in it.  I used Stampin Up rub-ons to put a little saying on them.

We had a lovely lunch and then had our card class after.

Form the Left:      Chantal; Monique; Sandra; Crystal
Front:           Sylvia; and Angela

Here we are having our lunch!  Thanks, ladies for a wonderful afternoon.
Have a GREAT SUMMER and we'll see you all back at class in SEPTEMBER :)

My second group of STAMPERS:

This is the table set for my second group of LOVELY LADIES.

They to were awfully excited when they arrives and saw flowers and a card for each one of them.

One of the ladies - Clara brought a bottle of wine, which wasn't long opened after everyone arrived.  Now what do you think the cards were like after a couple glasses of wine.  Terrific!!

Well from the left side we have:

Ankie; Angela; Clara; and Chris

another wonderful group of ladies that enjoy good friends, food, wine and card making.  Really, what could be better!  Yes, we all had a wonderful afternoon.  BUT, I forgot to get the picture with everyone holding their projects as when class was over, everyone was in a hurry to get outside and start digging plants.  I am downsizing my garden and I told the ladies take what they wanted!  That was all that need be said.  I should have gotten some photo's of the shovel's flying !!!   LOL

Well that's it everyone, we are finished card classes for the summer months.  We will be back in September with regular scheduled classes.  I remember we will also have the all day event in Oct, where we will prepare some Christmas items and cards.  I already have a couple of VERY FUN projects, and I haven't even thought of cards YET!!

I have to throw in a couple of photo's to share with everyone:

Isn't this just the cutest.  To bad my husband hadn't shaved.  But I can live with it.  Our grandson, Chsaye looking at his papa with such amazement!
Will I have those things on my face too some day!! I'm sure that's what he's thinking -   LOL

Here's what I've been up to when the sun is out!  Which really isn't a lot this summer so far.......

Here is my sitting area, finally all cleaned up. next to the pond I moved down from the top of the hill, it's over the the left where all the hosta's are.

This one is looking down at the front garden.  I've been working over the last couple of years trying to build a boarder around the sitting area.  You can see the hosta's then there is boxwood and finally a row of spirea.  Think it will take a couple more years to amount to anything.  LOL

You know what so funny, I have a few sitting areas, and I never sit in them.  As soon as I sit, I see something I have to do!!

Is it that way for you too .. LOL

Well that's about it folks.  Garden show is over, as it took me about an hour to post these.  This process is VERY SLOW!

So I hope you all enjoy your summer, and check the blog every once in awhile.  I will be making a few cards, and perhaps I can even get them posted.

HAPPY SUMMER  EVERYONE!!

Happy LONG Weekend Everyone!!

Hello Stampers:

Just what we've been waiting for - a long weekend, well NOT the rain part, but 3 whole days to do with as you wish.  I have a lot of gardening to do, but I'm now limited to the amount of time I can spend in the garden.  Bad knee, not much workee'!  OK, never mind the spelling, or weather it is even a word, how about a few cards.

My Father- In-Laws birthday is on Sunday the 22nd, so I thought since I was in the card making business, I'd better have one for him.  It is also his sisters birthday on the same day.  Not nice, who wants to celebrate their birthday with a sister or brother.  But I guess they have gotten over that now, and are going to make a day of celebrating!  If you double click on the photo's they will enlarge so you can get a better view!!

Here is the card I made for Rod!  My father-In-law ....  It is a NON STAMPIN UP Card using some of my favorite markers!  I think he'll enjoy this, he loves fishing, maybe it will inspire him.

OK - the next one is for Iris, my husbands aunt, the SISTER who is also celebrating the big BD!!

I love this stamp, and had so much fun coloring her and adding the flowers.  Again, this is a non-stampin up set, using my other favorite markers to add the color.

And lastly, another favorite.  Although this one I'm hanging on to until I find just the right occasion to give it.  Hope you had some fun looking at my cards today and we'll talk again soon!!

She's just my cup of tea !!

Sympathy Card Class

Hi Stampers:

I thought I would update you on our next class:   Sympathy Cards

Tuesday May 10th from 1 to 4 pm

Sunday May 15th from 1 to 4 pm

In this class we will make 4 lovely Sympathy cards as well a portfolio type box to keep them in, or you could give them as a gift.  Unfortunately these are cards we should always have on hand, and they will mean that much more to the recipient as they were made with love from you.

I look forward to seeing you, please let me know if you are unable to attend.  It's greatly appreciated.

I have a couple of other cards I thought I would share with you.  Please note, they are Non Stampin' Up! stamps as well some other markers I've been playing with.  I will have them available at class for you to look at.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOTHERS !
I hope it is extra special for each of you.  See you soon!

Linda

This was a card set I made for my Daughter for her birthday, she should have enough cards for a little while!  Maybe there's one in there for Mothers Day!  LOL

This is the card I made for my Mom.  The lines are made by using your cutting tool and a score blade.  It's very simple and gives a great back ground.  I also used inks and a sponge to mottle the background color.  I think Mom will enjoy it!!

This is a lovely Birthday Card I finished and made an awesome background by putting it through the big shot using the square lattice embossing folder.  It makes the paper look like material.  Very Cool!!

Then lastly, this is my favorite, haven't decided what I will use it for, but it could easily be birthday, friendship, probably a lot of choices.  She looks much prettier than in the photo and I had a lot of fun creating her.  I look forward to sharing these project with you at next class.

Until then, take care
Linda

Eastern just around the corner

Hi Stampers:

WOW!  Time fly's.  Before you know it we'll be out in the garden pulling weeds, digging and moving plants.  I am hoping to do a little this weekend.  So as you know, there's always something to be done, and as a result of that, my poor blog does suffer.  I do apologise for that stampers, but I have a few surprises for you today.  I have a lovely Easter/Mother's day set that you can make your own.  The holiday is just around the corner, so get those stamps out people, get a card or two in the mail.

Here is the set I did this afternoon.  You can also purchase it from a wonder Demo:  Jenny Moors she is in the UK and the fee for the class is very, very reasonable.  I wish I could send you right over to her site, but I'm not that good on the computer.  I'm sure if you type her name in and put stampin' Up! demo in there she'll come up.  Use google and that should work.

They are a little hard to see, but they are Easter and in the back  is a Mother's Day card !

Here a close up!  It's hard to see, but there is some bling on the cards.  Can't have a card without BLING!!

OK - NOW FOR SOME FUN!!!!!  Here are my NON STAMPIN' UP!  cards.  I've been playing a little with different markers.

Head on - right into the SUN!!  Love this stamp, yep!  Bling on the suit .....

This little one reminds me of our granddaughter.  It's so colorful, just like she is!!

It's just to cute not to post guys!!

This will be our Grandson in a few months, thought I would prepare his MOM, with a reminder of whats to come.  Hope that's not mean, but it was a cute image.

Here's the last one, just a very sweet and simple card.  Good for a masculine birthday.  Enjoy, I certainly did making them !!

What can you do with the New Build a Blossom PUNCH??

Hi Stampers:

We'll it has come to an end of my days off for me.  Back to the grind tomorrow.  I thought I'd post a couple of cards for your viewing as it may be a few day again before the next.  Remember Stampers - there is only a little time left before Sale - a - bration is over, March 31st last day for you to earn FREE STAMPS sets.  You  know the Build a blossom punch and the Build a blossom stamp set is also only available until April 30th.  That's the end of this mini and the Summer Mini will be out the 1st of MAY!  SO think hard and fast if you want anything.

I will post a couple of cards I've completed using the Blossom Petal Punch, and honestly, it's well worth it.  You can decorate you craft projects with so many kinds of flowers, in so many different ways, you won't know what to start with.  Best thing about punches are, you never run out of them, you just keeping making more flowers.

I am still working on my Daughters wedding invites.  She has decided she would like something more fall looking, and very simple.  Here's my next idea for her.  Maybe this will make the pick!!

Until later Stampers, keep stampin!!!

This is simply made using the Blossom Petals Punch and Stampin' Up! paper.  Sponged a little ink around the tops of the petals and walla!!

And here's another using different parts of the punch.  When you use different parts or petals of the punch of course you will get a different looking flower.  I'm very impressed how easily this works and how substantial the flowers are.

Here's the last one for your viewing.  Now all these cards are from a class I ordered, and perhaps it may be one you are all interested in.  We have April and May booked - but June is wide open.  If there is enough interest in these cards, there is another one and a matching purse you haven't seen, we could do it as a class in JUNE!!!  Leave your answer in the comments, or e-mail me and let me know.

OK - now for the next trail Wedding invite:  Here you go Chrystal, what do you think???

I think I'm really liking it, - CLEAN - SIMPLE  -  ELEGANT - AND FALLISH !!!!

Yes! It is a new entery!

Hi Stampers,

I know, it's actually a month since I've been able to get anything posted.  I had to finish my year ends first and finally I see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have had a couple of classes in between  this and the last posting, but not been able to update the blog.  I have a couple of entries for you today.

My daughter is getting married this year!  Yes, August 20th, here in our back yard.  Guess she's following in her Mother's foot steps.  OK, well I doubt that, but the big event , OK well small event is happening here on the farm.  So first things first, we needed to have an invite.  Of course she barley got it out of her mouth when I said " would you like me to make the wedding invitations for you? ".   Now, since things are going to be very casual, family barbecue after, I didn't want to get to crazy with the invite.  I am happy with it, hopefully she is as I am posting it on the blog.

Here is the front of the card.  They'll be a few changes, like the you're invited.  It was the only one I had, and I think I would like another with out the ! at the end.  I embossed the back ground with white embossing powder and the Elements of Style stamp set.  This is such a versatile set and really fun to use.

You will see in the next photo that I used a piece of vellum from SU and printed the itinerary for the day on it.  But although it is hard to see I put another stamp underneath the Vellum which is  from the Hostess Set : Northern Hearts.  It is only meant to peek through the vellum.

vellum insert also, guess I have spelled Dennis name wrong!  Whoops !!

This is just a quick view of the front of the card.  Even though the butter fly is popped up, it can easily be mailed and will pop up again after the card is opened.

As some of you know I've been playing with a new medium called : Copic Markers.  I have a photo of a card I just did this morning which I'm quite happy with.  Copics are a alcohol based marker and different than the Stampi' Up! markers we are used to.  I'm always wanting to try new things, but I must say I do love these.  They blend wonderfully, and as I get better I will post some more.  Practice, practice is what I am told.  Now, who doesn't mind that when its what you love to DO!

Well that's it for now Stampers.  I will try not to wait a month before the next posting - promise.
