Yes! It is a new entery!

Hi Stampers,

I know, it's actually a month since I've been able to get anything posted.  I had to finish my year ends first and finally I see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have had a couple of classes in between  this and the last posting, but not been able to update the blog.  I have a couple of entries for you today.

My daughter is getting married this year!  Yes, August 20th, here in our back yard.  Guess she's following in her Mother's foot steps.  OK, well I doubt that, but the big event , OK well small event is happening here on the farm.  So first things first, we needed to have an invite.  Of course she barley got it out of her mouth when I said " would you like me to make the wedding invitations for you? ".   Now, since things are going to be very casual, family barbecue after, I didn't want to get to crazy with the invite.  I am happy with it, hopefully she is as I am posting it on the blog.

Here is the front of the card.  They'll be a few changes, like the you're invited.  It was the only one I had, and I think I would like another with out the ! at the end.  I embossed the back ground with white embossing powder and the Elements of Style stamp set.  This is such a versatile set and really fun to use.

You will see in the next photo that I used a piece of vellum from SU and printed the itinerary for the day on it.  But although it is hard to see I put another stamp underneath the Vellum which is  from the Hostess Set : Northern Hearts.  It is only meant to peek through the vellum.

vellum insert also, guess I have spelled Dennis name wrong!  Whoops !!

This is just a quick view of the front of the card.  Even though the butter fly is popped up, it can easily be mailed and will pop up again after the card is opened.

As some of you know I've been playing with a new medium called : Copic Markers.  I have a photo of a card I just did this morning which I'm quite happy with.  Copics are a alcohol based marker and different than the Stampi' Up! markers we are used to.  I'm always wanting to try new things, but I must say I do love these.  They blend wonderfully, and as I get better I will post some more.  Practice, practice is what I am told.  Now, who doesn't mind that when its what you love to DO!

Well that's it for now Stampers.  I will try not to wait a month before the next posting - promise.
