Snowman gift card & Nugget Holder

Hi Stampers,

I almost forgot again, but here is the dimensions to make even MORE of the nugget holders.  I will also e-mail everyone I have an address for a video that I used.  We had a busy Dec class getting all of our projects completed and ready for your stocking, some of you wanted to even make more!  Hope this helps.

Enjoy:

BOX BASE:  5 x 7 1/4
score this at :  1/2  and 1 1/8 all the way around on all four sides

The belly bank:  5 1/8 x 7 5/8 is the bank size
score this at 5/8 & 3 1/2 then flip it 90 degrees and score again at 5/8 & 3 1/2

Whisper White card front:  remember you have to cut the smallest section down 2 1/2 inches on the score line and then 2 1/2 across to take that little section out.  You then have to corner round the little corner to give it a finished look

the card is 4 3/4 x 7
score this at 2 3/8 & 4 3/4

The layering piece: the whisper white card front was layered on was 2 1/2 x 4 7/8

As I said I will also try to email you the video link as well and that should be very helpful.  When I have a little more time I will post a few new projects I've completed with some of the NEW products in the OCCASIONS MINI, which will start on Jan 4th.

GINGERBREAD CAKE / LEMON SAUCE

Hi Stampers:

Thank you for reminding me that you were looking for this delicious recipe we had at class last month.  I had said I would post it on the blog, and well LIFE stepped in and I forgot - so here it is - enjoy!!

Gingerbread Cake and Lemon Sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon banking soda
  • 1/2 cup shortening ( I used butter )
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
Grease a 9 x 1 1/2 " round cake pan.  (I used a bunt pan), and I used the spray on Pam for baking !
In a bowl stir together flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, and baking soda, set aside.

In a large bowl mix the shortening with an electric mixer on medium for 30 seconds.  Add brown sugar, beat until fluffy.  Add eggs and molasses, beat for one minute.

Alternately add flour mixture and 1/2 cup of water to the shortening mixture, beating on low speed after each addition until combined.  Pour batter into prepared baking dish.

Bake at 350 oven for 35 - 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  Cool for 30 minutes and serve warm with the following lemon sauce.

LEMON SAUCE:
Makes 1 1/3 cups of sauce

2/3 cup sugar
4 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons finely shredded lemon peel
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 beaten egg yolks
6 tablespoons butter, cut up
1/4 cup half - half. light cream, or milk

In a small sauce pan stir the sugar and cornstarch together.  Stir in the water. lemon peel, and lemon juice.  Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture is slightly thickened and bubbly.  Cook for 1 minute more.

Gradually stir some hot mixture into the egg yolks, then return to saucepan.  Cook and stir for 2 minute ore.  Gradually stir in butter until melted.  Stir in half and half , then serve over cake while warm.

That's it STAMPERS, enjoy the holiday season with this wonderful Gingerbread Cake.

Upcoming Projects!!

Hi Stampers,

I've been busy today preparing for my last two classes in December, and I thought maybe I would give you all a sneak peek at some of the projects we will be doing.  Now each class has different project so what you see may NOT be in both classes.  The classes have already decided what they wanted to do.  These are so easy, and wonderful gifts to give to : the mail (person), your milk man - we still have one.  Your office co-workers, I tell you the list really could go on!  Don't forget the family, because inside the mini purse is some of the BEST chocolate you've ever eaten.  The Ghirargelli Chocolate, very hard to come by in Canada, and available only around the holiday seasons.  Yes, I found some and they will be your treat for your mini purse's.  Don't you just LOVE the wine bottle gift card!  It has a lovely greeting to give to the hostess when you are attending all those dinner parties.  Well here are a couple of photos, there is also a little gift card you can attach to your favorite persons gift.  Enjoy and see everyone SOON!!!

The little mini purses are to sweet!  I love the little mittens on the bottle tag, it fits perfect with the greeting.

The tag is a little hard to see, put is a snap to make with the die found in the Holiday Mini on page 36.  You will NEVER have to buy a tag again.  These are so much fun because they all have little doors that you can hide a secret message in.  Love them.

Well there you go, my share for the day!  OK, maybe for a few days.  Depends how busy I am.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone, its an extra gift from above I think. ......

HOLY GINGERBREAD BATMAN !!

Hi Stampers,

Well I have been playing this afternoon.  Making some projects and looking at what we might make in our next class!  Here's one that I recently purchased and made this afternoon.  It was great fun to make and only required a few punches and some paper.  It was easy to complete, I like those kind of projects.  Here a peek stampers.  Now as it is a gift bag/box I guess you would say, it can hold quite a bit inside.  I would say it would hold 2 dozen cookie!!  I tired to photograph it outside in the snow, but it was melting faster than I could get the shot !!

Up, Up & Away!

Hi Stampers,

Well that's the name of the next stamp set I thought I would play with.  It's a quick birthday card that's perfect for a little boy.  The only reason I say that is because I made it in blue, but of course the stamps set could be used for any birthday, really a whole lot of other things.  Maybe a cheer you up card, missing you card!  Well the sky's the limit.  What I really liked was it took less than 10 minutes to make.

Here it is!  The set is from the Up, Up & Away on page 63 of the 2011/12 IB& C catalogue.  It's hard to see here but of course I had to use some dazzling details on the balloons.

I also used the color coach to choose the colors.  I feel sometimes I just don't know what colors to put together and this tool is exceptional.  All I did was choose my main color - tempting turquoise and then found that color on the chart.  It then list the other colors that work well with it.

Here's a close up of the balloons, maybe you can see all the BLING!!

Well I just had to show one more!  Although this is a gorgeous card, focus on the greeting.  I just LOVE the frame surrounding the sentiment.  This was made with the Textured Impression Embossing Folders found on page 218 of the 2011/12 IB& C catty.  It's super cool because you get two folders in this package.  Check it out!!!

I used a background stamp here and the leaves from Gently Falling set, which is a (two step) stamp set.  I embossed the leaves with gold and then cut them out.  Of course my favorite part is the greeting with the embossed frame around it.

Here's a close up!!

LOVE IT!!

OK stampers, until next time when I have a few more moments.  Have a wonderful evening!!

Snow Much Fun!!

Hi Stampers,

Just thought I would post a card I finished from one of the BLOGS that I follow.   The site name is
" UStamp with Dawn and Friends" .  Now this particular site is one that I purchase and have one whole month of ideas for cards and projects. ( I will get a button put on my blog, that way you can just click on it and will be connected ASAP.   It has monthly themes and posts 2 new projects daily for 30 days I believe.  I think it's about $20.00 monthly.  I do love the site, and I get a Hugh amount of ideas from it.  Here's the card which is one of eight from this particular project set.

Isn't it wonderful.  It really was very simple and I got to use the NEW SILVER glitter paper found in the
Holiday Mini on page 41.  The buttons on the snowman are made with the Basic Rhinestones on page 198 of the 2011/12 IB&C catalogue.

I thought this will be a special card for someone special in my family.  Haven't decided which one that is yet!!  Lol

I hope to get one more completed  tomorrow and post for you!

Until then, happy stamping everyone.  See you girls on Sunday the 20th for our afternoon of Christmas Card making.

We will also have the BIG SHOT draw that day as well.  Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

OK, I have added the button for USTAMP with DAWN and FRIENDS!  You are welcome to try it out.  Hope it works.

November 14th - Reminder: NO SHIPPING FEES DURING NOV & DEC!!

As promised I thought I'd better get this posted.  To be honest I almost forgot, busy cleaning, laundry, you know the routine.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you all a little project I completed.  This lovely card box can be found on page 35 of the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  Now it doesn't come a beautiful as this is, but that's the fun part.  You get to design it how ever you want.  It pretty much only used two - 12x12 sheets of DSP and of course whatever embellishments you want to add.  I'm thinking if there is interest, perhaps this could be a class project in maybe Jan 2012.  If you guys are interested you must let me know as I have to order the card boxes before the Holiday Mini ends - Jan 4th 2012.

On that note, I received a down load today!  The NEW Occasion mini is out and effective Jan 5th.  I will pre-oder some things on Dec1st so I can show & tell.  Honest to GOD!  You guys are going to just, well .....  your going to LOVE whats in this MINI.  For who ever wins the Big Shot on the 20th will really be happy.  LOTS & LOTS of new Big Shot items.  OMG, I am just so excited about the new mini, can't wait to share.

For now, enjoy the Holiday Mini, it is soon coming to a close, so if you want Santa to bring that something special, better have him call me!

November 20th Ladies

Good Day Stampers!

November 20th is the day for our BIG SHOT draw, anyone interested in participating or adding their name to the draw must have an order in to me by November the 19th to qualify.  This prize is valued at over $120.00 and a must have ( OK, really want ) in your craft room.

Good Luck to everyone.  The class I have on the 20th will draw the name.

I have a photo here everyone to share with you.  I've been working on an ADVENT CALENDER for my granddaughter and I'm finally complete.  I'll have to make another next year for the grandson, this year he's just a little to young.

This was taken outside for better lighting, sorry no SNOW!  Not very Christmas looking.  But the project turned out great.

I put glitter on all the Numbers so they really sparkle.  Here's a close up view.  I want the center of the project to be 3D - so to speak.  I popped the tree out and a couple of gifts.

I wish I could figer this out so I could put my photo's together.  Lol

OK, you'll have to scroll down for the next pictures, another little project I've been working on!
3D view

OK, I'll just add this photo's below.  Probably why I don't post very often, this thing doesn't do what I want.  Lol

Here is a FUN gift set and card I did.  It is one of the projects we will be completing in our last class for 2011 - Dec 6th.

Close up of the fun snow!  This is done with the
MICA FLAKES on page 21 of the Holiday Mini!
You will LOVE this stuff!  Great in shaker frames also.

To the left is the gift set: a hot choc package, or really anything you want to put in it.  It's a very nice size.  There's also a matching card for wishing someone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS

OK  Come back tomorrow!  I'll have another post!!  Promise ......

Candy Cane Card

Here is the card my stampers have been asking about. I made it for our Atlantic Stampers Ink team meeting a few weeks ago.

The cardstock colours are Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, and Wild Wasabi. The Designer Series Paper is Holly Berry Bouquet. The stamp set is Pines & Poinsettias.

This is a great way to use our two sided paper with the fold.

The fancy scoring is done with our new Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

I'll try to get back soon with the recipes!

October - There's so much happening !!

Hello Stamper!

Wow October is a really busy month for Stampin' Up!, as well as myself.  We have stamp camp this month:   Tuesday October 11th  and Sunday October 16thBoth these classes begin at 10 am until 4 PM.  The class is an ALL DAY event with a lovely lunch provided.  The Oct 16th is completely full, but there are still a couple of seats available for October 11th.  Don't forget, you'll have the majority of your Christmas cards completely ready for mailing when the day is over, as well as a few lovely gifts or maybe something for yourself.

WIN A BIG SHOT!!

Another event that I am promoting over the next 6 weeks is the opportunity to WIN A BIG SHOT!  I hear the ladies all the time saying " I have to get one of those", well, when you put an order in with me
$ 25.00 before shipping & tax, your name will go into a draw to win a big shot.  Now that's an awesome win, just in time to maybe make a few more Christmas cards.

I will make the draw on November the 20th at my Sunday Stamp Class, and I can't wait to see who goes home with that awesome prize.
Of course the more you purchase the more chances you have to WIN!!!

I have also had A LOT of interest in having a class using the Simple Scrappin Kit " Christmas Lane" on page 26 in you Holiday Mini.  This is one of my favorite packages and I have completed 13 cards using this kit, and LOTS of the package is left for even more card making.  Its a tremendous deal.  If you purchase the Christmas Lane Scrappin kit, that would be eligible to have another ticket with your name on it for the BIG SHOT draw!  You could also attend my class with your kit on November the 20th and make another 13 cards - can you have to many Christmas Cards ?

NOVEMBER 20th Card Class  - fee is $20.00 and I will provide all the embellishments to make 13 cards, as well as the whisper white card stock needed.
You provide the kit and get a big shot ticket for the purchase.

Finally, instead of me writing everything over again, STAMPERS don't forget to take a look at the right side bar here on the blog.  There are some wonderful promotions going on right now.  Remember the COOKIE PRESS, my new favorite baking tool, you can find out all about that over there.

OK!! I have to show you guys this.   LOOK at what I made with my BIG SHOT today!!  I just love it, and it honestly was so simple to make.  You can watch a video, ( my favorite way of learning) over at :
stamping with Tammie - on you tube.  I believe if you type that in, her video will come up.  If you have a problem, just e-mail me and I will forward you the video.  So here's my Sunday Project!!

Isn't this WITCHES BOOT the cutes!  I've made this for my Mother In-Law for Halloween.  She'll find some candies inside as well as a couple sachets of foot bath.  You know how our feet are so tired after a day of wearing our favorite BOOTS.

So there you go!  Another BIG SHOOT idea.  Take care stampers!
Now I'll get back to some card making.

You'll have 16 + cards made and some lovely gifts for yourself or others

Here are a few photo's of the Letters to Santa portion.  Sorry, the rest will have to be a surprise.  But I promise an awesome day will be had!!

This is the outside's  of your portfolio!
OK Stampers, I've gotten two photos here.  I've been having some problems uploading pictures so I hope this will give you somewhat of an idea of what we will be doing.  Now there are more things we'll be making, but this is lets say a " Teaser"

So for now I'll leave this as is, and when I have a few moments I'll get a few more cards updated.  I guess the other info is the Oct 16th class has now filled.  Sorry, but there is a little room left for the Oct 11th, although I know this is a Tuesday, makes it a little difficult for the working stampers.

SORRY!!!!
